Bob Hope and Elke Sommer form an unlikely duo in this farcical comedy about a curvy box office bombshell and a small-town family man. A wrong number connects the two when telephone lines get more tangled than Phyllis Diller’s hairdo! The Divine Miss Didi (Sommer) is a gorgeous starlet who’s fed up with taking bubble baths in every film. She flees Hollywood and heads north to a hotel in a small Oregon town. There, hapless real estate agent Tom Meade (Hope) makes a phone call to his wife and, through a mixed-up connection, reaches Didi instead. His wisecracking housekeeper (Diller) listens in, shocked at what she thinks is Meade’s plan for a rendezvous. And when Didi disappears – again – the studio bosses, forest rangers and police move in, leaving Meade in the middle of a murder mystery! But, even worse, will his wife (Marjorie Lord) find out that a half-dressed actress is hiding in their lake cabin? Cesare Danova also stars in “One of Hope’s best pictures” (The Hollywood Reporter)!
